The Ashes Octet releases Mendelssohn Op.20 on Plushmusic
Our recording of Mendelsohn’s Octet recording from Cheltenham festival was released today. As telegraph.co.uk wrote:
“As part of this year’s ‘world quartets’ series, Meurig Bowen - Director of Cheltenham Music Festival – hatched a crafty plan to lure two string quartets, one English, one Australian, to join forces to play Mendelssohn’s teenage masterpiece, his String Octet, at the Pittville Pump Room.”
The Ashes Octet is formed of The Barbirolli Quartet and Australian String Quartet
