Claudia tackles Kagel in Köln
It’s high time we introduced the performers for this evening’s Kagel tribute. Born of Italian and Danish parentage, Claudia Ajmone-Marsan is equally at home as a soloist, chamber musician and orchestral leader. A frequent performer in the world’s major music festivals, including Schleswig-Holstein, Aspen and Perth, Claudia has also toured Europe with the Cologne Chamber Orchestra. An active chamber musician, Claudia was a member of the award-winning Quince Quartet, and has recently joined Sheffield’s contemporary music champions Ensemble 360.
A graduate of the prestigious Yehudi Menuhin School in England, Claudia is a passionate teacher and has led numerous workshops in Ireland and South Africa as part of the MIAGI festival.
One other thing. Tonight she’s playing Kagel in public for the first time. Gulp.
